Jared and Rachelle were stunned earlier this year when Jared was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Only those who have been through chemotherapy know how painful and draining it can be, to the patient, of course, but also to the family. Jared certainly demonstrated great courage and endurance throughout the months-long ordeal, and Rachelle also reached deep inside to find the strength to support Jared and to care for a three year old and a new baby. Happily, the final scans this fall showed that any sign of cancerous tumors were gone. Human effort, medical technology, and a kind Providence combined to conquer the intruder. Later this fall, Jared and Rachelle were able to leave Brent and Cameron with Grammy and Pa and head of for a much-needed getaway week in Jamaica. Brent is a wonderfully bright, inquisitive, conversational (for a three-year old) lad who is a joy to be around. Cameron is placid and pleasant, unusually well-dispositioned for a ten-month old.
